Brett Omara has established herself as an avant-garde violinist and educator well versed in many genres of music.
 
 A native of Santa Fe, NM, Brett has rapidly made a name for herself in both the classical and pop music scenes of New York City and Santa Fe playing at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden. Recent performances and collaborations include: A European tour with the World Youth Orchestra, performances on Saturday Night Live, MTV, at Madison Square Garden and at the historic LIVE8 concert with Rapper/producer Kanye West. She also performed recently with Phillip Glass and Bill T. Jones Dance Company. Brett is an avid violin instructor, teaching the Suzuki Method and jazz, fiddle, Latin, and hip hop violin styles. She has taught privately and at schools in New York, Boston, and Santa Fe.
 
Brett recently taught violin and doubled for Jessica Alba in the feature film ‘The Eye’ (2008). Brett has performed regularly with the Santa Fe Symphony, Musica da Camara Orchestra, and Canticum Novum. She has also been a member of the Redbull Artsechro, the Philharmonic of the Americas, The New England Ensemble, the NY Chamber Opera and the Manhattan School of Music Symphony. She has performed with many famous conductors and soloists such as Kurt Masur, Burt Bacharach, and Lorin Mazel.
 
She performed with Nacha Mendez and her Latin jazz quartet and the cutting edge electric string quartet SQ-Unit, part of DBR and the Mission. Brett holds a BA degree in violin performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She has also studied at the University of Arizona and Boston Conservatory on full scholarship. Brett studied Suzuki pedagogy at the University of New Mexico and was a full time instructor at the Santa Fe Suzuki School. She has attended many summer festivals including the Henry Mancini Festival, Musica Europa, Aria, Festival de Cologne, & Encore School for Strings.
 
Currently Brett lives and plays music in St.Thomas, USVI. She is founder and director of the VI Montessori Suzuki Violin School and runs her own music service business. She is in high demand as a violinist for weddings, events, and concerts. She plays with several local bands including the Barefoot Davis Band, Greg Kinslow, and works as a session violinist at ISW studios.
